Further expansion of ICC’s Managed Messaging Service – New Customers

Following the successful migration of WIPO to the MMS Service, the following organizations subscribed to the service at the end of Q4 2009, namely:

  • International Trade Centre (ITC), for the migration of approximately 550 mailboxes from GroupWise to the MMS. The migration completed in July 2010.
  • World Food Programme (WFP), for the migration of approximately 15,000 mailboxes from Lotus Notes to the MMS. WFP will also make extensive use of the OCS based Unified Communications Services included in the MMS offering, and Collaboration Services based on SharePoint.
  • United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), for the migration of approximately 12,000 mailboxes from Lotus Notes to the MMS.
  • International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), for the migration of approximately 1,100 mailboxes from Microsoft Exchange to the MMS.
  • With the above subscriptions, the ICC Managed Messaging Services is expected to exceed 30,000 mailboxes, making MMS the largest single messaging farm in the United Nations system. As a result of the growing number of MMS subscribers, the cost per mailbox is expected to drop below USD 10 per month.
