Position Description

Purpose of the Position:

Reporting to the Chief, Projects & Programmes Section (CPP) within the Client and Projects Division (CP), the post would be responsible for providing Project & Programme Coordination activities.

Objectives of the Programme:

The objectives of the Centre, as stated by its mandate, are to provide information and communication technology (ICT) services (including training) on an inter-organizational basis.

Main duties and responsibilities:

The incumbent will work under the direct supervision and guidance of the Chief, Projects & Programmes section (CPP). The incumbent could be requested to do any other tasks of similar level in related fields.

The incumbent will perform the following duties:

  • Assist in the coordination of activities pertaining to internal or external UNICC projects and/or programmes
  • Liaise with Pre-sales team on the pre-planning of projects and programmes, to identify, high probability projects opportunities
  • Support Programme Managers and/or Project Managers with project and/or programme deliverables, Atlassian updates, and serve as OIC as needed
  • Work with Governance PMO to ensure projects and programmes are adhering to relevant frameworks, and have Audit-related artefacts in place
  • Ensure alignment across delivery teams who may represent resources from multiple internal (UNICC, client teams) and external sources (vendors, consultancies, product teams)
  • Assist with stakeholder engagement and management (internal and external, as applicable)
  • Assist in the brainstorming and institutionalizing of product management at UNICC
  • Provide other ad hoc support either within your team or in other teams as required – this includes the participation in special projects/programmes or support to service delivery for short period of time on a part-time or full-time basis upon request from the senior management

Recruitment Profile

Experience and Skills required:

Essential:

  • A minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible professional experience in information technology and/or related area, including in project or programme coordination
  • Strong knowledge of Project management best practices, AGILE/SCRUM, and/or PRINCE2/PMP

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of project management and transition to Operations
  • Experience in Business relationship support
  • Experience with stakeholder engagement/management
  • Strong technical background in the areas of infrastructure, including application development/management, networks
  • Basic experience in training others

Education:

Essential:

  • First-level University degree in Computer Science, International Relations, Information Systems/Technology, Mathematics, Statistics or related field

 Desirable:

  • Certification in Agile Project Management Framework
  • ITIL management certifications or training

Languages:

  • English: Expert knowledge is required
  • Knowledge of additional UN language is advantageous

Eligibility:

Compensation:
Annual Salary Estimation (net of tax at single rate):

  • Valencia, (Spain) including post adjustment (25,3% on May 2022): US$ 63,420
  • Brindisi (Italy) including post adjustment (19% on May 2022): US$ 60,231
