Position Description

Purpose of the Position:

The Application Support Technician – Share Point will perform all technical operations related to Share Point for supporting customer’s requests.

Objectives of the Programme:

The objectives of the Centre, as stated by its mandate, are to provide information and communication technology (ICT) services (including training) on an inter-organizational basis.

Main duties and responsibilities:

The incumbent will work under the direct supervision and guidance of the Head, Business Solutions Unit within the Clients and Projects Division. The incumbent could be requested to do any other tasks of similar level in related fields.

  • Provide day-to-day application support and maintenance for ICC and its partners
  • Resolve in a timely manner Tier-2 application issues and escalate Tier-3 issues to designated focal points
  • Assist in the evaluation, configuration and installation of new releases in accordance with established configuration management standards
  • Assist in the deployment of tools and in the implementation of processes in the context of operational support
  • Assist in responding to application-related queries from end users in remote locations
  • Perform knowledge transfers to Tier-1 and trainings end users on the usage of applications
  • Assist in the development and in the updating of software applications related documentation, including technical documentation and system reports, attend operational and other meetings
  • Provide standby and on-call 24×7 support, and work in shifts when requested
  • Provide other ad hoc support either within your team or in other teams as required – this includes the participation in special projects or support to service delivery for short period of time on a part-time or full time basis upon request from the senior management

Recruitment Profile

Experience and Skills required:

Essential:

  • Minimum of five years of experience in application maintenance and general IT support, from which minimum three years in a multicultural and global international organization
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint 2013 and later with minimum of three years of hands on experience in administration area
  • Experience with SharePoint migration tools
  • Good working knowledge of MS SQL Server 2012 and later
  • Good working knowledge of Windows Server 2012 and later
  • Certification and/or familiarity with ITIL concepts and processes

 Desirable:

  • Good Working knowledge of Office 365 and SharePoint Online
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform
  • Experience in drafting technical documentation
  • Ability to grasp complex concepts, logical and analytical approach to solving problems
  • Willingness to improve knowledge and skills and learn new technologies

Education:

Essential:

  • Graduation from secondary school supplemented by specialized training in IT

Desirable:

  • Certifications and advanced training in Microsoft SharePoint
  • Microsoft Certification in SQL Server or MS Windows

Languages:

  • English: Expert knowledge is required
  • Other language: Beginner’s level of another UN official language is desirable

Other Information

Eligibility:

This position is subject to local recruitment pursuant to staff rule 4.4 of the United Nations Staff Rules. All staff in the General Service and related categories shall be recruited in the country or within commuting distance of each office, irrespective of their nationality and of the length of time they may have been in the country. A staff member subject to local recruitment shall not be eligible for the allowances or benefits exclusively applicable to international recruitment.

Compensation:

Annual Salary Estimation (net of tax at single rate): EUR 30,571.
