EC-UNDP joint task Force on electoral assistance
UNICC is pleased to announce that the EC-UNDP Joint Task Force on Electoral Assistance, a partnership between the European Union (EU) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), based in UNDP Belgium, in Brussels, has joined UNICC as a Partner Organization. The first steps are to develop platform and mobile application for electoral assistance, with hosting and support, with several countries in the pipeline to support upcoming elections.
The EU and UNDP are two global institutions that share a common vision towards the virtues of democratic governance. Both institutions recognise the value of electoral assistance in supporting the long-term, sustainable establishment and development of democratic institutions world-wide.
The European Commission (EC) and UNDP are natural partners in the field of electoral assistance. Electoral assistance projects constitute one of the largest area of EC-UNDP programmatic cooperation on the ground, with partnership on over 100 electoral assistance projects since 2006. CADRI partnership – capacity for disaster reduction initiative
UNICC is equally proud to announce another new Partner Organization, the Capacity for Disaster Reduction Initiative (CADRI) Partnership. Over the past decade, CADRI has expanded its membership and consolidated its offer of services to countries. The agreement is a contract with a UN Joint Programme (not UNDP) gathering 20 organisations.
Founded by three UN organizations – OCHA, UNDP and UNDRR – the CADRI Partnership regrouped 16 organizations during a second implementation phase between 2014 and 2018. For the third implementation phase from 2019 to 2023, it will represent 20 organizations working together in delivering an ambitious joint offering of services to countries that are most vulnerable to the impact of climate change and disasters.
Under this new phase CADRI is broadening its offer of capacity development services to include climate change adaptation in addition to disaster risk reduction. CADRI integrates conflict-sensitivity and gender-responsiveness in its approach to capacity development. It is scaling up services at regional levels to respond to increasing country demand for capacity development support. UNICC will be supporting with a variety of digital business solutions.
