Position Description

Purpose of the Position:

The Outreach and Strategic Partnerships Officer will support, guide, and execute UNICC’s strategy for engaging with key political stakeholders. This position involves the development and implementation of strategic collaborations, partnerships, and external relations, including with Member States.

Objectives of the Programme:

The objective of the Centre is to provide trusted ICT services and digital business solutions to its Clients and Partner Organizations.

Main duties and responsibilities:

The incumbent will work under the direct supervision and guidance of the Head, Outreach and Strategic Partnerships (MSO) within the Management and Strategy Division (MS) and in close collaboration with the Communications team.

  • In close collaboration with the Head, MSO, proactively engage with stakeholders across Member States, UN entities, academia, private sector, NGOs, and other relevant groups, facilitating resource mobilization and strategic partnership development
  • Under guidance, contribute to fostering and sustaining strategic partnerships, ensuring alignment with the strategic objectives of UNICC, and effectively considering and taking into account the interests and priorities of Member States. Identify and propose opportunities for partnerships and/or resource mobilization, leveraging diplomatic channels to advocate for UNICC initiatives, actively identifying and engaging with key stakeholders, experts and institutions
  • Deliver tailor-made proposals, concept notes, talking points and reports, identifying and linking UNICC projects to related ongoing activities within Member States and other institutions, encouraging collaboration and synergies
  • Other: Provide other ad hoc support either within the team or in other teams as required – this includes the participation in special projects or support to service delivery for short period of time on a part-time or full time basis upon request from the senior management

Recruitment Profile

Experience and Skills required:

Essential:

  • A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in international relations, public administration or related area
  • Proven experience in relationship management with member states and other relevant stakeholders
  • Ability to develop and implement strategies to mobilize resources
  • Experience in preparing and delivering high-quality proposals, concept notes, reports, and presentations

 Desirable:

  • Experience with inter-agency or interorganizational collaboration
  • Experience working in the United Nations system
  • Experience working for a Member State civil service

Essential:

  • First university degree (or equivalent educational qualifications) in International Relations, Public Administration, Negotiations and Policy Making or related field

 Desirable:

  • Advanced university degree (or equivalent educational qualifications) in International Relations, Public Administration, Negotiations and Policy Making or related field

Languages:

  • English: Expert knowledge is required
  • Knowledge of another UN official language would be an advantage

Other Information

Compensation:

Annual Salary Estimation (net of tax at single rate):

  • Geneva (Switzerland), including post adjustment (96,7% on September 2024): US$ 126,126.
