Position Description

Purpose of the Position:
The purpose of this position is two-fold. On one hand, the incumbent will ensure that the Division provides customers with solutions that meet the highest level of quality for all the processes involved in the solutions delivery lifecycle. On the other hand, the incumbent will create awareness and guide the implementation of the quality standards throughout all processes, reporting on the quality objectives to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.
Objectives of the Programme:
The objective of the Centre is to provide trusted ICT services and digital business solutions to its Clients and Partner Organizations.
Main duties and responsibilities:
The incumbent will work under the direct supervision and guidance of the Chief, Digital Delivery Division within the Digital Delivery Division (DD) and in close collaboration with all the relevant stakeholders in other Divisions in UNICC and other UN system agencies, as required. The incumbent could be requested to do any other tasks of similar level in related fields.
The Quality and Planning Officer will be responsible for:
- Coordinate activities within the Division to achieve quality objectives through the implementation of the Quality Management System, and assist other teams in achieving required certifications (i.e. ISO9001)
- Ma Monitor the implementation of divisional workplans, ensuring alignment, clear objectives, and defined KPIs to measure progress and success
- Contribute to the opportunities management process, by identifying tools and practices to increase efficiency, effectiveness and improve customer engagement
- Coordinate critical initiatives within the division, through the identification of risks and opportunities in order to increase the quality of the processes and deliverables
- Collaborate with taskforces, working groups and meetings in support and/or on behalf of the Division Chief
- Adopt and promote a change management approach throughout the implementation of the quality standard and for all the activities that require large-scale change
- Other: Provide ad hoc support as required. This may include participation in special projects or support to service delivery for short period of time on a part-time or full-time basis upon request from senior management
Recruitment Profile
Experience and Skills required:
Essential:
- At least five (5) years of relevant IT experience in application development, including international experience
- Experience with Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) frameworks and methodologies
- Solid understanding of Application architectures: IaaS, PaaS, SaaS and Cloud design patterns
- Knowledge and understanding of the ITIL best practice framework
- Knowledge of DevSecOps process, Security, Testing and Quality Assurance process or Service Management
- Knowledge and understanding of ISO standards related to SDLC and certification processes related to the most recognized quality standards
- Previous experience in supervising, mentoring and coordinating remote teams
- Good knowledge and solid understanding of IT fundamentals and technologies pertinent to creating business solutions (software development, architecture, applications, databases, integration, infrastructure and networks)
Desirable:
- Good knowledge of the Change Management methodologies and frameworks such as PROSCI
- Good knowledge of SCRUM and/or Agile frameworks and methodologies
- Strong analytical skills with ability to develop management frameworks and templates
- Experience with ISO9001 implementation
*Education:
Essential:
- First level university degree in Information Technology or related field
Desirable:
- ISO standards training, Change Management certification (i.e. PROSCI), and other technology related certifications (i.e. ITIL)
Languages:
- English: Expert knowledge is required
- Knowledge of another UN official language will be an advantage

- Rome, (Italy) including post adjustment (23,9% on March 2025): US$ 86,992
