Applicants for this Talent Pool may be nominated for encumbering an Artificial Intelligence Officer role. In these roles, incumbents will be responsible for shaping and influencing partner projects for AI with a focus on policy, standards and regulatory advisory, operating model, governance structures and controls. The Artificial Intelligence Officer role requires a deep understanding of policy, standards and governance of AI but also an ability to translate this into helping clients set up their principles, policies, operating model, governance structures and controls for Gen AI.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Lead AI Initiatives: Collaborate with team members and the Head of the AI and Machine Learning Unit to spearhead AI projects, focusing on policy, standards, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Develop Operating Models: Create robust governance structures and control mechanisms to ensure project success and compliance.
  • AI Expertise: Serve as the go-to AI expert within our data science and transformation team, offering advice on AI technologies, strategies, and best practices.
  • Guidance and Communication: Provide clear guidance to UNICC and client teams, ensuring alignment and understanding of AI initiatives and their impact.
  • Pre-Sales Support: Assist in pre-sales activities, including client conversations, project proposals, and strategic planning for AI-driven initiatives.
  • Project Delivery: Ensure the successful delivery of client projects related to Generative AI, ensuring solutions are innovative, effective, and aligned with client needs and industry standards.
  • Policy and Standards Assessment: Stay abreast of the latest developments in data and AI policies, standards, and regulations to inform project strategies and ensure compliance.
  • AI Governance Insights: Maintain a comprehensive overview of key developments in AI governance, providing actionable insights to drive best practices.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Actively engage with key stakeholders in the policy and governance space, fostering partnerships and influencing the development of AI policies and standards globally.

Recruitment Profile

Experience and Skills required:

Essential:

  • At least five (5) years of experience in IT, including proven experience in big data, block chain, generative and multimodal AI, machine learning or related area 
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing operating models, governance, AI risk management policies and controls in any of these areas or multilateral collaborative groups 
  • Exposure to data science strategies, machine learning and business analytics to solve business problems
  • Deep understanding of Data & AI regulations and Standards
  • Proven hands-on experience in Responsible AI, Generative AI and Data Ethics 
  • Proven ability with Stakeholder management  

Desirable:

  • Published academic papers, white papers or some form of thought leadership in the field of Responsible / Ethical AI or closely related areas  
  • Experience in government/UN/Academia/development bodies, regulators, standard bodies 
  • Ability to lead project workstreams to completion
  • Experience in Big data, high-tech or financial industry   
  • Experience in data analytics or related area 

Education:

Essential:

  • First University degree in the field of Computer Vision (CV), Natural Language Processing (NLP), Speech Processing, Multimodal AI, Generative AI, or a closely related field 

Desirable:

  • Advanced University degree in the field of Computer Vision (CV), Natural Language Processing (NLP), Speech Processing, Multimodal AI, Generative AI, or a closely related field 

Languages:

  • English: Expert knowledge is required
