The objective of the Centre is to provide trusted ICT services and digital business solutions to its Clients and Partner Organizations.
Background information:
UNICC requires an experienced Transition & Release Coordinator to provide project coordination support for ongoing and new projects and to coordinate the transition and release management functions for assigned projects. The resource will aid in building, implementing, and supporting best practices to ensure Application Development processes are managed in compliance with UNICC processes, following an Agile mindset.
Main duties and responsibilities:
The consultant will work under the direct supervision and guidance of IT Application Development Officer – Transition and Release (DDD). The consultant shall perform the following tasks and ensure completion of the following deliverables:
- Provide technical guidance, coordinate the transition and release management functions within assigned projects
- Prioritize and coordinate activities for the deployment of software applications or other related changes to the project environments
- Gather information, analyze impacts, risks and track status of all change requests and release implementations
- Coordinate with Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, and Configuration Management to ensure correct and consistent data is provided to the Change and Release Management processes
- Support the alignment with business processes and requirements during the service transition process
- Work closely with all delivery groups to continuously improve change and release processes, procedures, and communication for the delivery of service
- Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with various stakeholders and UNICC colleagues to understand and review current and future business needs and propose solutions to address them
- Identify risks and assist in forming contingency plans
- Provide other ad hoc support either within the team or in other teams as required
- Support in project coordination. Support project managers with the coordination of resources, preparing comprehensive action plans, project plans, and information in delivering major projects efficiently
- Under guidance, support the coordination of the daily work of the Transition and Release team
- Support the flow of information on progress and priorities towards the rest of the team
- Coordinate with and support the application development team in testing and end user adoption on various customer projects
- Ensure internal and external projects are delivered as per acceptance criteria and business requirements
- Preparation of technical documentation, SoPs and other process documents
- Support the key business stakeholders in transition management to operations, ensuring that business as usual is maintained during the implementation of any new IT projects and the changes are effectively integrated into the business
Recruitment Profile
Experience and Skills required:
Essential:
- At least four (4) years of experience in Information Technology and Business Applications development, including relevant IT experience as a Transition and release coordinator
- Experience working with global organizations and/or multinational companies
- Experience with Secure Software development Lifecycle frameworks and methodologies
- Proven experience with coordination and facilitation of Change and Release Management processes and procedures
- Good experience and sound understanding of IT fundamentals and technologies pertinent to creating business solutions (software development and testing, architecture, applications, databases, integration, infrastructure, and networks)
- Responsible for delivering medium to large sized complex projects; strong technical skills; good analytical skills; strong ability to understand complex business process
- Must have a strong business/client engagement skills and ability to establish effective working relationships with subject matter experts, conduct interviews, and lead focus groups
- Excellent writing skills and ability to produce high standard documentation
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the ITIL best practice framework
- Customer experience best practices and techniques
- Expertise to provide strategic technical and functional guidance to proactively improve the performance, reliability, security, and cost-effectiveness of customers’ solutions using industry best practices
- Sound knowledge of estimation techniques, design patterns and awareness of industry trends
Desirable:
- Good knowledge of DevSecOps process, CI/CD, Sandbox management and data backup/recovery
- Good knowledge of standard project management methodologies and frameworks such as PRINCE2, SCRUM and/or Agile Strong analytical skills with ability to gather requirements and develop management frameworks and templates
- Good knowledge and sound understanding of IT fundamentals and technologies pertinent to creating business solutions (software development, architecture, applications, databases, integration, infrastructure, and networks)
- Working knowledge of Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, Bamboo, and other automation tools
Education:
Essential:
- First university degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Security or related
Desirable:
- Advanced university degree with focus in Information Technology

Compensation:
Fee will be based either on the National Officer salary scales or the Individual Consultancy band levels (for Headquarters)
